The benefits of dry brushing

The benefits of dry brushing
You might have heard of the beauty modality called dry brushing. It is simple to do, and something many people do in the comfort of their own homes to support their drainage pathways, help their skin glow, and remove dead skin cells.

What is Dry Brushing?

Dry brushing is an ancient Ayurvedic technique that works to improve circulation throughout the body and exfoliate the skin for a brighter appearance.

Benefits of Dry Brushing:

1.) Support our lymphatic system by manually moving stagnant lymph
2.) Promotes circulation
3.) Removes dead skin cells
4.) Reduces the appearance of cellulite
5.) Stimulates our nervous system

How to Dry Brush:

It is quite simple to do, and it is often found easier to do before you take a shower to wash away dead skin cells.

Starting at your feet, on dry skin, using a firm bristle brush perform light pressure strokes upwards towards your kidneys.

Work your way up and inward, moving the brush over your skin in long, strokes maintaining a slightly firm pressure as you dry brush.

Repeat this motion a few times on each body part. (ex: legs, arms, stomach)

On the arms and legs and use long fluid strokes upward to promote lymph drainage.

When dry brushing on your stomach area, make sure you are using soft circular clockwise motions to help the digestion pathway.

After dry brushing, it is best to add a moisturizer to the skin. Apply RESTORE or BIOACTIVE COMPLEX to give your skin some TLC. If you decide to dry brush before the shower, make sure you shower, dry off and add in your moisturizing product of choice.

Let’s get glowing!
